Compress a PDF to 100 KB

Scans of an ID card, a signature page or a single certificate are the files that most often need to be this small. Add yours, keep 100 KB selected and press Compress; a long photo-heavy file may not reach it. Nothing is uploaded, it all runs in your browser.

Where a 100 KB PDF is needed

100 KB is the kind of limit you may meet on upload boxes for ID scans, signature pages, single-page certificates and quick form attachments. Because the budget is so small, it suits one or two pages best. If a longer scan will not fit, split it first or send the pages as separate files.

Tip: scan a single page in black and white or grayscale before compressing. A 100 KB file is realistic for about one or two such pages, whereas a colour photo of a document may use the whole budget alone.

How to use Compress PDF

  1. Add the PDF you want to shrink.
  2. Choose a target size or a compression level.
  3. Press Compress and download the smaller file.

Frequently asked questions

Can any PDF be made as small as 100 KB?
Not always. Text and vector pages are already tiny, so only images can shrink. A multi-page scan made of large photos may stay above 100 KB even at the lowest quality; the tool then tells you how far it got instead of pretending. You can split the file or use fewer pages and try again.
Will a 100 KB PDF still be readable?
Usually yes for text documents, but images are saved at lower quality and resolution to reach this size, so fine print inside a photo can look soft. Check the preview before you send it.
