About PDFont: private PDF tools in your browser

PDFont is a set of free PDF tools that run entirely in your browser. Your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers.

Why it exists

To merge, compress or unlock a PDF, most websites first ask you to upload the file to their server. For contracts, ID scans or payslips that is a lot of trust to hand over. We built PDFont to do the same jobs without sending the file anywhere: right in your browser.

Our privacy principle

  • Your files are not uploaded to our servers. No tool sends file contents over the network.
  • No sign-up. The tools never collect your name or e-mail address; even the name you type for a signature stays on your device.
  • No advertising or tracking cookies. The only measurement is Cloudflare’s cookieless, aggregate visit statistics.
  • Your browser keeps only what is useful to you: language, theme and a recent activity list (file name, size and time only).

The details are in our Privacy Policy.

Everything happens in your browser

When you pick a file, your browser reads it into memory and the code running in that tab does the work. Heavy tasks run in the background (Web Workers), using WebAssembly where needed, so the page stays responsive. The result is created on your device too, and it is gone from memory once you close the tab. Our How it works page shows you how to check this yourself.
