About Add Watermark to PDF

Add a watermark to a PDF to mark it as a draft, confidential or a copy, or to brand it with your logo. Type text or choose a PNG or JPG image, then set the size, colour, opacity and angle, and place it once in the centre or tile it across the page. It works with Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and many other scripts. The watermark is added in your browser, so your file is never uploaded.

How to use Add Watermark to PDF

  1. Add a PDF.
  2. Type the watermark text or choose an image and adjust how it looks.
  3. Press Add watermark and download the result.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add a watermark in Arabic, Japanese or other languages?
Yes. The text is added as vector shapes, so any script we have a font for works, including right-to-left languages. Because it is drawn as shapes, the watermark text cannot be selected or searched.
Can the watermark be removed again?
It is part of the page content, so it cannot be switched off like a layer. Keep your original file if you may need it without the watermark.
Can I use my logo as a watermark?
Yes. Pick an image such as a logo instead of typing text, then set its size and opacity.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Enter page ranges such as 1-3, 5 in the Pages field; leave it empty to watermark every page.
Can I change the angle of the watermark?
Yes. Pick one of the preset angles, or choose Custom and enter any angle in degrees.
